Patrick Ménard

Patrick MENARD is a cabinetmaker by training and a self-taught artist. He paints what he sees, what he feels, with a shy, naive touch in the manner of modern primitive painters.

Through his eyes, he sketches nature, views of cities, castles, animals, attaching himself to a certain realism in the composition while choosing a touch of freedom in the choice of colours.

Patrick Ménard has only painting for two years, confessing that from a very young age, he drew but did not want to show his drawings for fear of being mocked. We feel this shyness through his paintings, but it is this shyness that brings all this freshness to his canvases.

An energy, a palette enriched by cold colour ranges for the most part but when we look at his paintings, they bring us warmth and softness. This artist creates his own frames, thus wishing to create a unique work for each of his creations.
