Biography

After a ten-year immersion on foot or by motorcycle on the roads of all continents, Rice set down his suitcases in 2000 on the French Riviera. Deeply out of step with his company, he drew the foundations of his work problems from his experience and began his own approach.

He will exploit all possible forms of expression to the point of agglutinating thousands of capsules to talk about consumerism, through the rejected object of consumer society. This is most certainly the starting point of his plastic work.

Faced with a globally aestheticized world, he naturally turns to plastic, in 2012 he opens a parenthesis with a black novel "Descente au Paradis" published by "La Manufacture du Livre", before returning to his favorite expression.

As a plastic artist, it was not premeditated, it was just another kind of adventure that was offered to him. Through his work Rice takes a cynical and compassionate look at a world that is overwhelmed by the triumph of beauty or even morality becomes a cosmetic of behaviour. The man questions and questions himself, reflecting the resulting image of a behaviour specific to our society.
