'Boudica' is an abstract standing, female figurative work. Created using a semi cubist design. This beautiful piece stands proud, the rigid edges empowering the form. It is unique, as no molds were used.
Sculptures created in concrete are made using a combination of layering and carving; addition and subtraction. Concrete is added gradually to a rigid frame, as it cures more layers are then added or removed as the form develops. A process requiring time and focus, often taking weeks or months to complete a single piece. The final result offers a unique work with a surface layer comprising of multiple layers meshed and intertwined together.
