Artist Biography

French artist born in Paris in 1966, Fred Kleinberg has established himself, over the years, as one of the talents of contemporary French painting.

Trained at the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1982, he exhibits his work in Europe, the United States and Asia in collaboration with galleries. His works are also present in public institutions and private collections.

Artist globe trotter, each new series is naturally and intuitively accompanied by travels and he has carried out several artist residencies abroad including :

  • Villa Medici in Rome in 1996,
  • The Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art in 2001
  • In Pondicherry, India in 2004.

He has won several painting awards:

  • Prize of the Coprim Foundation (2000),
  • Taylor Foundation Award (2008),
  • Charles Oulmont Foundation Award (2008),
  • 1st prize at the International Contemporary Art Competition in Monte-Carlo (2014).


Today, Fred Kleinberg lives and works in Paris and India.
