This work captures an urban scene imbued with mystery and surrealist absurdity. I sought to highlight the contrast between the rigidity of everyday life and the unexpected, symbolized by this modest shop beneath an infinite sky. The energy it brings to your home is that of deep reflection blended with a strange beauty, inviting you to see beyond the ordinary.

Artist Biography

Jean-Marie Gitard, alias Mr Strange is a French artist born in 1964 who lives in the south of France.

After studying art history and a rather classical approach of visual artist, Mr. Strange, largely inspired by surrealism and carried by a curious and inventive personality, has gradually moved away from classical painting to focus on polymorphic forms, mixing painting and sculpture. This is the period of the "Spictures".

His artistic evolution then leads him to appropriate the digital medium that allows him to deepen his inner world and bring a singular look at the world around him without constraint or limit, what he calls his photo manipulations. Hybridization, logic of the absurd, subversion, are the doors of predilection of the artist. From birth to death, from the individual to society, he spares no one. Mr Strange handles surrealism with a certain derision, and proposes a reflection on the world sometimes poetic, sometimes caustic but always sharp.
