Luis Caballero (1943-1995) is a Colombian artist and one of the most important Latin American sketchers of his century. He started with the Baconian expressionism and ascended to romanticism and mannerism until he reached his freedom: Michelangelo. He had emigrated to France to escape the homophobia that prevailed in Colombia. Religion and passion dominate the work of this young Colombian to whom religious painting offered the first contact with art in a country where there are very few museums.
