Watercolor

It relates to a painting technique with colors treated in solution in water containing arabian gum or other mucilage serving as binder.

Watercolor is a "light" material, not really adherent, which allows to work everything in transparency and to obtain effects of paper and grain. But it is for these qualities that it is vulnerable, fragile to the effects of light and to atmospheric agents. Its preservation demands precautions : glass or plastic envelope, subdued light.
