Artist Biography
Papa Mesk ( born in 1972 ) French graffiti artist since 1985, founding member of the UTP crew, " Underground Tribal Painterz " in 1987. Passionate about art and calligraphy, he is also known for his prolific activity and the style of his Tags. The evolution of his work naturally leads him to use the canvas as a new support. This surface allows him to reinterpret his influences and develop his style.
His paintings are constructed by instinct through the accumulation of tags, in a palette of highly vibrating colours. Each drop, shine and drip is the object of meticulous attention, allowing their perfect integration into the final composition. His works become more abstract and the composition more graphic. Dynamism, color, and evolution characterize his work. With 35 years of experience in the original graffiti, he has acquired today a real artistic signature.
