Basquiat vs Warhol

Piriongo is an instinctive artist born in 1975. He moves eclectically in a dreamlike landscape with infinite potential, in scenes where real and surreal tend to converge, with a high aesthetic sensitivity. He weaves scenes capable of enveloping the viewer with the graphic charm of fantastic, colourful, holographic and flowing characters and worlds.

They become the essence of neutrality, they see the world with calm and rationality, closed in their introvert and shy characters, and at the same time they are trivialised in an ironic way.

An interesting aspect is his link with Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Basquiat, which can be seen in the closeness and similarity of his ideas about the meaning of art and Pop Art, three personalities, three different and complementary voices expressing that whole new way of conceiving art. He turns images, he solarises them, obtaining different chromatic variants.

In his artistic project, Piriongo almost seems to want to inherit their art, a symptom of a strong aesthetic sympathy and a deep community of intentions. His works can be found in many private collections in Rome, Naples, Milan, France, Belgium, Switzerland.
