Screen print

The screenprinting is an impression of a drawing in ink, black or color, on paper, by the intermediary of a copy and a screen, constituted by a sieve in the very tight weft made by silk or of synthetic fibers.

The invention of screenprinting goes back to the first half of the XX°s, but its real development will take place in the years 1960-1965 mainly in the US, then in England, in France and part of Europe. Pop Art artists are abundantly going to use this technique in particular Andy Warhol. Screenprinting allows to assert contrasts and to realize posters.
