Artist Biography

Yannick Monget is a French futurist, ecologist, artist and writer. He is the founder of the Symbiom group. Symbiom/ He is the founder of the Symbiom group and of the eponymous Committee, which he created with, among others, the astronaut Jean-François Clervoy, the academician Jacques Rougerie and the lawyer and former French Minister of the Environment Corinne Lepage. This Committee brings together personalities from around the world, committed to the promotion of peace and the preservation of the environment. It aims to raise awareness and inform decision-makers about the issues related to the contemporary environmental crisis. He is also one of the ambassadors of the Universal Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Humanity, a project carried by the French presidency since 2015.

Futurist/ Close to the botanist Jean-Marie Pelt and the balloonist Bertrand Piccard, it is by discovering the work of the photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand that he understands in the early 2000s the role that visual art can have in raising awareness, but also in educating and informing people about environmental issues. As a futurist and lover of new technologies, he decided to mix the two by using digital art techniques to take the viewer on a virtual journey into hypothetical futures of striking realism, presenting - with a scientific approach adapted from the work of the IPCC in particular - threats and hopes for humanity and our planet.

His meeting with the American astronaut Neil Armstrong, who also shared a sensitivity to the environmental cause, and his friendship with many astronauts, especially his friend Jean-François Clervoy, have also led him to work on themes related to the space world, whose fundamental role for a better understanding of the environmental problems of our planet he emphasizes. Writer and artist/ Yannick Monget is also known for his committed books and his digital paintings mixing arts and sciences to raise awareness of environmental issues. An approach he shared with his friend, the famous Greek composer and painter Vangelis.

Novelist and author of photo-documentary art books published by Editions de la Martinière in Paris, Abrams in New York, Gerstenberg in Berlin, or Ecus Publishing House in Taiwan, his visual works have given rise to major exhibitions around the world, from Metz his hometown to Vancouver through Brussels, Munich, Geneva and of course Paris as part of the international summit of the COP21 or the G7 summit dedicated to the environment in 2019. In 2021 he will sign HOPES, a project of international scope in which he has been joined by dozens of personalities from all over the world, Nobel Prize winners, representatives of indigenous communities, scientists, explorers, astronauts, committed to the protection of the environment and the promotion of peace.
