Artist Biography
With each new canvas, I seek to simplify. Fascinated by human failings, I denounce injunctions to perfection and oppose any form of over-intellectualization of the minor arts. I like a simple, naive line, free from detail. I'm interested in the strong lines of spaces, bodies, faces and objects. I'm obsessed by imperfection and error, the coarse and the imaginary. I want colorful subjects that can recall the innocence of childhood, as well as its sometimes hidden sadness. Self-taught, Pauline Katherine began painting in her teens. However, it wasn't until a few years ago that she picked up her brushes again.to deepen her work. She paints exclusively in oils on a variety of supports. She takes part in numerous designer pop-ups (notably at the BHV), where she also sells products derived from her work.
