Artist Biography

Born in 1998, Charigny Juliette holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Lille. Her artistic research focuses on highlighting and developing our sensitivity to the beings of this world. Her work is characterised by photographic experimentation using the cyanotype process on paper, glass and stained glass. In particular, she explores the limits of photography through the technical hybridisation of old skills. His issues also concern the environment, in particular questions about the rightful place of wild animals, relationships with weak links and the informed gaze. His work, which resembles abstract calligraphy, is based on the cyanotype process, an abstraction that targets the age-old limits of photography and painting in the history of art. These same limits are all the more relevant nowadays, with the choice of hand-drawing shapes that are nonetheless reliant on the chemical processes triggered by light.
