Artist Biography

Léa is a French artist, working in the South West of France under the name "Léa Bros (Youthemagician)" It was in the early 2010s that Léa made her first ink and pen drawings, and never left her. After studying and working for several years in apparel design, in 2021 she decided to devote her full-time work to her passion for illustration. She now works with a selection of galleries and retailers. Among them, "Maison Contemporain", whose artist selection she joined in early 2023. Her work "Hand Talk - The presentation" was recently selected by D31 Art Gallery to join their spring exhibition "The Magic of Transformation". Among her most recent performances, she took part in BOOMERGALLERY's "Walking with Giants" exhibition in London. From her career in women's fashion, Léa has retained her sensitivity to women and her desire to represent them. They are her main theme, along with hands and gestures. Her work is recognized by its fine lines and uncluttered style. She draws with ink on paper and uses gold leaf as a touch for her illustrations. Her light-hearted universe symbolically draws attention to the magic of the details that surround us. The magic that exists inside us, too. Her inspiration comes mainly from music and her sensitivity to her visual environment. Through "Hand Talk", her first illustration series created in 2020/2022, Léa expresses her sensitivity to the magic transmitted through everyday details, and gestures in particular. She presented her second series, "Bird Set Free", in January 2023. Through the symbolism of the feather and the bird, the artist expresses in this series a sense of freedom and rediscovered lightness.
