Artist Biography

Painter born in 1950. Interior designer by profession, artist at heart, he dreams of painting from an early age. It will take 50 years for the dream to come true.

In 1995, Yves Henry began his first paintings, passionate about Pop Art; he brings up to date the Cut out (collage of images) that he accompanies with messages that cross the canvas.
Then he uses objects and diverts them from their context and it is at this moment that he develops his paintings in 3 dimensions.
In 2002, he entered the private collections. In 2005, he was represented all over the world: Hong Kong, New York, Geneva, Cologne, Singapore, London and of course Paris.

His hands, his brain and his heart shape wood - trunk, slats or bastaings -, earth, scrap iron, plexiglass, fire, wind, sky, sounds. He chops, slices, bangs, soda, models. Forms and volumes with thick, solid, readily deformed contours: gueulards, Venus raped or with large hands, always with striking titles. Nothing to do with a boudoir sculpture between two sofas. His discourse is exercised on what he sees and lives. Sometimes in the solitude of the studio. Most often in the maelstrom and the opportunity to meet.

May he continue to watch, to watch, to observe; attentive and vigilant. Witness of every day. This is how he sees his role as an artist and the “statute of statues". This is how he lives and gives life. This is how he calls life.
