SeCaM, alias Stéphane Castet-Moulat, born in 1972, self-taught painter, I live and work in Salon-de-Provence.
After years of creating images for others as a computer graphic designer, the need to express my creativity in more personal "works" became more and more pressing ... An image "devourer", I take the step in 2015 and launch myself with passion and assiduity in the creation of paintings.
My inspiration draws from the collective memory: cinema, music, art in general, games, often with a touch of nostalgia for the 80's of my childhood.
I consider myself as a craftsman, going from one technique to another (stencil, collage, acrylic, pastel ...) to achieve a "beautiful work". The creative process always remains more or less the same: an idea, an iconographic research, a passage on the Mac to adjust layout and colors, then the realization of the work with the techniques best suited to the desired rendering.
Most of the time, a last step, the "deconstruction" phase, of the paint raging on the canvas. The result is colorful works, full of details, a mix of pop art and street art, with a touch of surrealism and derision. Intuitive or thoughtful gestures, bright colors or black and white, nostalgia or modernity, my approach always remains focused on a single goal: aesthetics.
