French, today I live and paint in my native Brittany.

My passion for drawing and painting started two decades ago .

It was with the approach of my forties I began my learning process, with an artist, teacher, demanding and passionate, Jean Goutorbe. He gave me the essential basics of drawing and colour, allowing me to continue my training, sometimes with other teachers and especially as a self-taught learner. Artistic learning is endless.

My interest very quickly focused on people, their faces. The portrait is the occasion for a pictorial research. The challenge is also to find the resemblance, to reveal the personality, a trait of character, an emotion or a state of mind. My preferred medium has long been acrylic. 

In recent years, I opted for oil, and chose scenes of daily life as the subject, in environments that are most often urban. 

Painting is the way to express my interest in the Human, my questioning in front of people who are often anonymous. People are important because they breathe life into a painting. But the painting does not tell a whole story. I want to engage the audience's imagination, I want them to create their own scenario.

I am always trying to simplify shapes, avoid too many details, harmonize color and get the correct range of values.
