Artist Biography

An instinctive and outdoor painter, he is part of a landscape tradition that the Norman public is still very fond of.

Born in 1942 in St-Chéron, he was a pupil of Lionel Ouine and took lessons at the Beaux Arts in Rouen for three years. A Norman of pure stock, he has been painting since 1985, he is a postimpressionist. He has an innate sense of nature, he translates on his canvases the light, the vivacity of the colors and a great bonhomie impregnated with emotions coming from the landscapes where he immerses himself. He is now a recognized artist who paints on the motif with great generosity and a beautiful accuracy of composition.

Recognized as a color bulimic, he relies on his spontaneity and instinct. Very prolific, he is never short of inspirational motifs throughout Normandy. Some people sometimes reproach him for the abundance of his work, but this prodigality is part of his generous temperament.

His talent and qualities as a painter are now recognized beyond the Normandy borders.
