Pop Ice
2mé, artist, born in Paris in 1970 is an illustrator, sculptor: in short, a jack-of-all-trades!
Very early on, the artist appropriated wood by combining his taste for tradition and his desire to make works in search of a certain perfection.
He appreciates the density of the material and its durability which are a source of inspiration. It is less a fight between him and the material than a dialogue between softness and sensuality of curves.
His sculptures are always more vegetal, mysterious and raw. 2mé plays with appearances by creating trompe l'oeil which gives the illusion of reality from a distance, allowing viewers to appropriate his work with their own gaze.
His creative force and his desire to offer wood a resolutely Pop metamorphosis give rise to tangy sculptures such as ice creams or eskimos that literally melt in his workshop.
