Guillaume Campredon is a French sculptor born in Versailles (France) in 1991. He works mainly with limestone and granite.
He discovered sculpture during his studies of semiotics, and deepened his practice in a self-taught way. His doctoral thesis defended in October 2021 at the University of Paris 2 Pantheon-Assas and entitled, "For a theory of the augmented sign, semiotics of the monster in society. The media and political trajectories of the sign and the Pokémon franchise", feeds his artistic approach in a complementary way.
Within the framework of contemporary creation, he explores the seizure of signs and their inscription in stone. His work is a confluence, a constant dialogue between plant, animal and mineral worlds. The themes of bestiary and botany feed his artistic research: a transhistorical, cross-border and transcultural research.
