Born in 1980, ArtRat is an urban artist who has always been passionate about art. Nurtured by street culture and deeply influenced by major figures such as Blek le Rat and BANKSY, he developed a fascination for stencils and socially conscious art at an early age.
For many years, ArtRat took over the urban space of Paris by creating stenciled rats, symbols of freedom, resistance, and a critical view of society. Long anonymous and ephemeral, his interventions interact with the street, passersby, and the moment.
In recent years, ArtRat has chosen to fully embrace his work and present his creations in the open. While retaining the raw and committed spirit of street art, his works now find their place on permanent media, between urban art and contemporary art.
Through the figure of the rat, ArtRat questions the notion of power, freedom of expression, and the place of art in public space, with an aesthetic that is at once poetic, provocative, and accessible.
