Discover a striking artwork where nostalgia meets contemporary boldness!
This unique piece celebrates the art of papercutting, a meticulous technique used to bring back to life Venusia, the young farmer and formidable fighter in love with the Prince of Euphor, an iconic pilot from the cult series Grendizer.

Its inspiration is drawn from the timeless and charming aesthetic of the emblematic Lego character. This unexpected fusion gives rise to a new, structured pop vision of one of our childhood heroes.

Each element of the character is broken down into different colors, enhanced by the richness and intensity of the carefully selected papers. Shapes, reflections, and limbs are reinterpreted in a minimalist yet powerful way.

The true secret of this creation lies in the art of layering: the precise combination of shades, grains, and paper textures creates captivating depth and dimension. This resolutely modern and graphic interpretation pays a vibrant tribute to Venusia’s legacy, propelling her into a new artistic era.

The character measures 37 cm in height by 26 cm in width.

Artist Biography

I'm a child of Club Dorothée, I was in front of my TV when Goldorak appeared and his friends followed him. I dreamed and grew up with them. I also spent long hours with my Lego and Big Jims, building and inventing adventures in my bedroom, living room or outside, shaping my own world. After many years of creating and manufacturing in the world of toys, entertainment and decoration, I wanted to rediscover that part of my childhood, the toys I would have loved to have as a child. Unable to find what I was looking for in specialized stores, I decided to create my own ideal versions... By mixing and matching cartoon heroes and the little characters I used to play with, I was able to create my ideal character. And even though I'm still a dreamy child, I've grown up and my character needed to be bigger too. Being a plastic artist, I sculpted the various parts of my master model. Mastering the art of resin, molding and painting, I made silicone molds, cast my resin parts and brought my versions of my heroes to life. The juxtaposition of styles was natural, and my childhood reappeared to me. My large, articulated and unique figurines reminded me of those long, carefree hours of playing and inventing.

Those sensations during the ritual of watching each new episode on a single day at a fixed time, sharing it with friends at school the next day, re-watching the episode during recess... These wonderful memories come back immediately when you see these characters again, there are flashes, smells, places, seasons that you feel right away. Explain to your children the universes we discovered that took us on journeys through time and space. Let them come back to remind us of those happy days of play and adventure.
