Biography

Karl Kox is the pseudonym of this young Belgian artist, from a family of intellectuals.

Dunce  assumed, with a chaotic school career, he left the family bosom early to go on an adventure.

He sets down his suitcases in London, then New York, doing odd jobs to survive. He attended artists' squats there and began to practice drawing on his own.

In early 2019, a friend bought him a ticket to attend the great Warhol retrospective at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York. It is as much a shock as it is an eye opener.

His work is resolutely turned towards this mode of expression and he declines at will the emblematic figures of this current, its historical and literary references or puts forward figures of immediate current affairs.

Adept of "flashy", he plays on color contrasts and the duplication of subjects.
