Lydie Massou

I was born in Dong Hoî, Vietnam, where color knows no bounds. I've been drawing and painting since childhood. Since then, pencils and paper have never left my hands - a classic path up to the baccalaureate, where drawing classes were my favorite subject. After that, a number of encounters with painters led me to gain confidence in my oil painting technique and perfect it. From there, my style took shape and the desire to exhibit my work in workshops was born. I'm fascinated by Vincent Van Gogh, whose paintings are full of emotion and character. As for Monet, he was my guide to color, and Kandinsky for his lines and shapes, which have influenced the lines and finesse of my paintings. I love working with oil paint, and I enjoy experimenting with new color combinations on a daily basis. I work directly on canvas, superimposing thin layers of paint, where the knife gives the first strokes, playing with textures.
