Biography

Attracted to volume, light and color from an early age, Louise de Gastines embarked on an artistic career at an early age. From the 2000s onwards, she explored a wide range of techniques through her training and internships with Kuntzel et Deygas, Sylvie Lapidouse and Niki de Saint Phalle. This immersion led her to join a model-making and prototyping workshop, where she perfected color creation and airbrushing. After a rigorous apprenticeship, she joined the Industrial Design section of the Greta de la Création, du Design et Métiers d'Art in Paris. A passionate self-taught artist, she turned to clay sculpture, fascinated by its organic and technical dimensions. She sculpts, enamels and fires her works in her studio in the heart of nature, experimenting with the alliance between raw clay and vitrified enamels. Her work, influenced by Moreau, Klimt, the Delaunays and Camille Claudel, oscillates between surrealism, classicism and mythology. Through her funny and mysterious sculptures, she questions reality and explores the depths of her imagination. Her talent was recognized in 2005 by the Innovation Talents/BGE competition. In 2024, she will be exhibiting at DIVERSITÉ // DIVERSE CITÉ (10 Place des Vosges, July 27 & 28). Always driven by the excitement of creation, she sees her art as a source of total fulfillment.
