Biography

Skepa is a French painter and sculptor born in 1978. Co-founder of the BAFO movement. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and started his first approach with painting through graffiti in the early 90s. His meeting with Jone Hopper, with whom he confused the TBS group and other activists, was a turning point in his approach to art. Over the years, his painting becomes more experimental, more raw and opens to new frontiers. He draws his influences from Brauner, Matisse, Corneille, Braque and fire art. Several art critics compare his pictorial production to a UFO with multiple tentacles mixing harmoniously an organic Cubism with a touch of unstructured figurative in rupture with the asepticized vision of contemporary art. He is one of the most active artists on the online art market with a "dizzying" production of more than 1200 works in all media.
