Claudine Loquen

Claudine Loquen is a French artist born in 1965 who lives & works in Paris, France. She depicts portraits, especially women faces as Colette for literature.

Like Colette with the literature, the artist makes with her painting, of the human face, especially feminine, her landscape of predilection. Canvas after canvas, figure after figure, she traces with the meticulousness of a lace-maker, the map with the moving borders of a paradoxical territory: at the same time, geographical and cultural, real and imaginary, intimate and shared.
