Sophie Cantou

From Bordeaux, Sophie Cantou has a special relationship with the Bassin d'Arcachon. She draws her inspiration from the nature that surrounds her - fallen autumn leaves, the raging winter ocean, tree bark or the light of the sunset. 

In February 2017, she made the decision to fully invest in her artistic creation. His work is the reflection of his interiority, an intimate, personal perception of reality between figurative and abstract, dream and reality. It expresses the encounter between his inner world and the outer world, between the visible and the invisible. 

The artist is above all challenged by the poetry and the subtle intelligence of nature. Nature in what it has of pure, original, essential. 

Sophie Cantou is more and more touched and inspired by her secret code, in its parts as well as in its whole, at the smallest level as at the largest level. She tries to "extract" this essence as she receives it to express it. Thus his work tends towards abstraction.
