Biography

Bruno Pezon, better known under the name of Alkaplan, born in 1967 Lillebonne (Seine-Maritime) of a painter-decorator father who transmitted his artistic fiber to him at a very young age. He took evening classes at the Beaux-Arts in Le Havre from the age of 15. At 16, he joined the painter and decorator glazier section. There he met the professor and painter Claude Le Ricle who would change his existence, between drawing and color he guided the pictorial development of his pupil for three years and remained his mentor and close friend until his death in 2014. In 1996, his painting began to separate the contribution of color from that of drawing: he nourished the expression of movement with contours and cut shapes, thus creating a plastic dynamic reinforced by colored contrasts. In 2011, his technique becomes even more expressive with a work on texture which contributes to the dynamics of the work: under the neologism "Animerism" his style is in line with an expressionism based on emotion and the mind. * Transvestite or diverted, the scene escapes stereotypes of readability. It overflows and takes the motif to another dimension. Alkapaln immerses us behind the scenes and encourages us to pay attention to the accidents of a scene that could be said otherwise. Is it the translation from one world to another, a journey in a parallel space-time, in which nothing is lost, everything is transformed where everything stretches as much as possible towards new possibilities? His quest triggers this flood of representations of an imperfect and so pleasing world. Alkaplan has since revealed itself through various national and international events. *
