Biography

Born in 1980 in France, of Bulgarian father and Swiss mother, Sofia Leconte Mitev has been painting since her childhood. At the age of 17, she won 8 regional painting competitions and exhibited in more than fifteen spaces. Then she graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon. From 2001 to 2004, she managed a gallery in the Marais district of Paris. In 2008, she was the first woman chosen to participate in the collection "en Puisaye", art books containing lithographs by Miro, Adami, Segui, Lalanne, Alechinsky, Texier...

From 2011 to mid-2016, Sofia Leconte Mitev devotes her time to the adoption of two children, to studying art therapy as well as to animating free expression workshops in the field of social reintegration. During this time, she marks a slowdown in artistic production, while feeding off of what she experiences both in her studies and in her workshops. Since late 2016, she has resumed her artistic explorations.

Sofia Leconte Mitev lives in Chesières, Switzerland.
