Biography

Liso Cassano obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Paris. She studied film, painting and music at the conservatory, before devoting herself to art. After a first international exhibition in 2015, she went on to create videos, write poetry and invest in series of oil paintings.

Her second book of poems, Un Eternuement dans le Silence, was published in 2023. Her poems are regularly published in Verso magazine, and she exhibits her videos and paintings all over the world, from New York to Paris, London, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Istanbul and Amsterdam.

She has received over a dozen art awards and her work has been published in international magazines.

Her poetic, emotionally synesthetic work describes and envelops a human landscape adorned with unreal colors, like a jewel case for our existences, which would otherwise elude us. She creates a landscape in which each work is a totem, a lighthouse, a signpost, like a playground in which to escape the iceberg of our vision. It's an invitation to let the hidden reclaim its rights, in a universe where our lives could swell to the point of expansion, thwarting all the forces that run through our lives, and take on a rebounding, elastic breadth of faculties at the expense of an uneven logic, where reason would have lost out in the face of the primacy of an experientially sensory, subjective response to self, others, time, language and the living.
