African Art is often restricted to the wooden sculptures, more rarely metal. But today, it extends to the whole set of production made out of plastic, all technics considered, born on the African continent. A blooming of artists were formed at the schools of Art on the European continent.

They approached all techniques: the representational easel painting with the Senegalese Iba Ndiaye, naive paint with the Zairean Darling Samba, engraving with the Mozambican Malangatana. If contemporary artists often worked with their western counterparts as models, styles and innovations were diversified in infinity.
