Chanel N.5 in State of Natural Degradation is sculpture by artist Norman Gekko from his « Waste Land » series. The artwork is made out of 2 tin cans reshaped into a Chanel N.5 perfume bottle. On the face the Chanel logo has been painted and shows signs of deterioration. Quite thought-provoking and very representative of the artist’s style and work, this sculpture is in perfect condition.

Artist Biography

Preferring to remain incognito, contemporary artist Norman Gekko swims against the tide of "sharing" on social networks and the egotistical exhibitionism that dominates contemporary art. So, no nationality, no gender. For the artist, the choice of anonymity has only one function: that of allowing works to be contemplated without prejudice, thus giving them the place which is rightfully theirs in society.

Gekko's style is clear and simple: creating, by the trompe-l'oeil technique, on a recurring monochrome background a unique pictorial motif. In their great variety, Gekko's works produce a critical and acerbic discourse on the future of contemporary society. The sculptures, although often seemingly playful, however, are always visually provoking and striking.

Once you have seen a work by Norman Gekko, you cannot confuse it with any other.
