This sculpture shows a Barbie doll cuddling a « Chanel Box » which is actually a tin can. The artwork is extremely gracious with a beautiful and voluptuous mouvement. The « It’s so big! « artwork is of course a very satirical artwork by Norman Gekko made, playing with the iconic image of the famous brand. The « It’s so big! » series is the series foreshadowing the « Odourless » series. Good condition.
Preferring to remain incognito, contemporary artist Norman Gekko swims against the tide of "sharing" on social networks and the egotistical exhibitionism that dominates contemporary art. So, no nationality, no gender. For the artist, the choice of anonymity has only one function: that of allowing works to be contemplated without prejudice, thus giving them the place which is rightfully theirs in society.
Gekko's style is clear and simple: creating, by the trompe-l'oeil technique, on a recurring monochrome background a unique pictorial motif. In their great variety, Gekko's works produce a critical and acerbic discourse on the future of contemporary society. The sculptures, although often seemingly playful, however, are always visually provoking and striking.
Once you have seen a work by Norman Gekko, you cannot confuse it with any other.
